Vampira was the very first television horror hostess of all time, a master of ceremonies to dozens of “B” horror movies way back in 1954. She was the innovator of the TV horror host genre and the godmother to a whole line of horror hosts that were to come. . . including Elvira. Vampira was beautiful, exotic, eccentric, and very old Hollywood, and she was very close to a pre-fame James Dean and even dated Marlon Brando.
