Aaron McGruder, author of the controversial and gut-funny comic, “Boondocks,” has teamed with Turner’s Adult Swim to create a live-action series dubbed “Black Jesus.” In typical McGruder fashion, we find Jesus living in Compton, Calif. (South-Central L.A.) where he tries to spread love, kindness, generosity and peace in the ’hood. Everybody pretty much ignores him – even when he turns bottled water into wine — except his trusted acolytes, a group of ragtag do-gooders. Irreverent, twisted and hilarious, this is not for the meek.
